For those requiring good posture when driving the lumbar support can make somewhat of a difference.
However if the car has cheap and cheerful seating to start with then the adjusting lumbar support will not rectify this shortcoming.
The lumbar support is generally adjusted by rotating a spinning wheel attached to the side of the seat.
Adjustment can also be achieved by a lever with multiple positions for adjustment.
Some makes have electric adjustable lumbar supports or indeed ones which inflate with small air hand pumps at the front or side of the seat.
