Locking Petrol Cap

The locking petrol cap is a security device fitted to cars to resist fuel theft or indeed any unwanted additions to your fuel tank.

Older caps were fitted with exterior keys to gain entry to the fuel tank.

Newer locking systems include the central locking fuel flap which is automatically locked when the car is locked on the central locking.

The older locking system however is somehow becoming trendy once more in the late nineties as used by the Fiat Coupe a polished metal key operated locking petrol cap.

Not quite a must on your list when buying a car. But if you have ever had any additions to your fuel tank by any mischievous persons, and then had the subsequent repair bills you will value a good locking system to protect your fuel from theft or contamination.
